This esteemed institution, built with the sole motive of gifting the world with the ‘best tea’, which suites the palates of multiple cultures around the world, was brought to life in 1989, under the name ‘Qualitea’, a term, that intrigued our founder prior to starting the company. A name that symbolized ‘quality’ itself was chosen for the simplest reason, to bring nothing but the ‘best’ to every palate.
Starting off and as a tiny seed, Qualitea flourished in just 2 years, on becoming the 5th largest tea exporter in Sri Lanka. Brought to prominence with its value-added packaging and being one of the forerunners in packeted tea shipments, the brand spread to over 30 countries. Building loyalty, trust and stability along the way, a 35-year long journey can certainly be challenging. The journey would never have been possible, and we owe that very success to God, family and friends.

We stand today as one of the leading International Tea trading and Marketing companies in the world, A vision that became a reality through careful planning, dedicated hard work, integrity, commitment and complete transparency, which is also the foundation to our success.
The company has grown from its inception to be a very strong force. In the beginning, we were mainly as a bulk tea supplier. However, in the past Two decades, we have given much more emphasis to our own brands and private label retail packs. Our brands, QUALITEA, SHERETEA and GENEX have become eagerly sought after the world over. We have also continued our efforts as brand builders of many Private Label brands in numerous countries. We also continue to supply bulk teas to many of our partners who pack these teas under famous brand names internationally.
As an organisation, we strive to offer unmatched value to our clients on the strength of our sound fundamentals. We will continue our path of pursuing growth in high quality value-added teas in existing markets, whilst pursuing new markets and promoting The Best Ceylon teas and Exclusive Teas of other origins.
